I think I have the best job in the world.
This week at Little Owl Academy was SO MUCH FUN!
Our color focus this week was green. We created these fun green froggies. I got the idea here, and modified it just slightly for my little ones. They got to choose which eyes they wanted for their frog. Don't you love the one with one big and one little eye! I also taught them how to curl the tongue around a pencil to make it curl. They loved trying it over and over again.
This week we also practiced the letter S (slithering around like snakes was really fun) and the letter R. Today when focusing on the letter R we made these adorable Rainbows in a jar! I got the idea here, but modified it slightly just as well. We used much smaller jars that I found at Hobby Lobby for just 50 cents. I love that store! I played a black table cloth out to collect our mess, and away we rolled with chalk and salt. I let them choose which colors they wanted to do. They all turned out so fun! I just wish I was better at taking pictures, because my picture of all the rainbows together was blurry :( I think it was our best and most fun project we've done all year!
We ended the day by reviewing the letter R and using my fun stamp markers to create our own stamped rainbow.
I have loved the curriculum that I've been using that I purchased at the beginning of the year, but I've just been looking for something to add a little bit more depth to our learning. Then my amazing Aunt Brenda, who works for District 93, sent me folders upon folders of files for English Language Arts and Math for preschool from Engage NY, and amazing program. I can't wait to look over them and add parts of it to my curriculum!
